Episode 1: Pedagogical Apocalypse
Thirst for Knowledge

In the classroom, the educator is the warden of all knowledge, he disseminates it at his leisure. New thoughts, ideas and imaginings are out of bounds completely and any natural inquiry, interest or passion is utterly forbidden. Internet ports are restricted, information devices disabled.
The Educator runs his little corner of the machine mind, dictating all courses, setting minds like timers…ticking down it seems, to the dissolution of all that was fair. With this kind of control, with such power comes corruption: the reward for behavioral obedience is access to further knowledge but that knowledge is nothing but a manipulation, a dissemination enforcing further obedience.
The face of the education system has undergone a swift and thorough metamorphosis. Not only is the new countenance unrecognizable, it is also fearsome. Where teachers are now known by the more intimidating term ‘Educators’, students are now labelled ‘Initiates’. The following tales take place in diverse locations across the globe, yet the exact date and time is unknown. Some say that these tales tell of days long past, of an ancient society left far behind. Others believe them to be a report of current affairs, in progress at this exact point in time. However, many opine that these tales are something of a prophecy, a disturbing vision of things to come.
A cultural holocaust is underway…the educational and societal system at large are bent on dissolving the individual completely. Rigorous, standardized testing is employed in order to standardize minds. Students are nothing but subjects under authority. Politicians, district authorities and educational leaders enforce the empty thoughts of a machine like mind, access to information is strictly controlled, all minds are calibrated by these constraints on knowledge. The machine orchestrates the isolation of students, manipulated thoughts are bent on intellectual domination only, feeding into the machine. Young minds are pitted one against the other, intellectual cannibalism.
Indeed, in this time, hope is but a mere illusion.

Collaboration between initiates is out of the question as this would breed new thoughts and thoughts are strictly dispensed by the Educator and the Educator alone. Competition is the only connecting factor between initiates, who are thoroughly isolated in both mind and space…leaving neither heart nor creativity in sight.
Only regurgitated information, untarnished, is rewarded. Test results are public knowledge to keep competitive fires ablaze. Communication between initiates, any act of sharing is seen as an open act of defiance…treason against the crowning system, against the soulless machine.
