Well, not really. Nothing can substitute real people, real students and inspiring trainers. But for a cost effective Professional Resource, it takes some beating!
So many schools have invested in iPads without investing in teacher Professional Development. The iPad Monthly Newsletter is a quick, cost effective way of providing practical ways of integrating these powerful tools into the classroom. It is the most effective, creative and innovative ideas for using iPads in the classroom, straight to your mailbox. I sincerely hope these ideas make your iPad classroom a vibrant and dynamic environment.
A FOCUS ON PEDAGOGY AND EXCELLENCE
The iPad Monthly Newsletter has a focus on great teaching and learning. We believe our students have enormous potential to collaborate and learn from different people, and other sources, including online. But we also believe in the crucial role teachers still play in designing rich, dynamic learning experiences for their students.
CREATIVE EDTECH EDUCATORS
iPad Monthly is authored by Apple Distinguished Educator Paul Hamilton. I am a real teacher with over 15 years teaching in the Primary classroom. Each of the lessons in this Newsletter have been tried and tested. That is not to say that all lessons will run smoothly. That is not the nature of our job. But sometimes those very lessons are the ones you look back on and think 'those kids got something out of that lesson'.
The first edition alone has contributions from some of the leading edtech thinkers on the planet including, Reshan Richards (Co-Creator of Explain Everything) and Drew Minock (2 Guys & Some iPads).
BUT WHAT ABOUT THE COST?
Why do I have to pay for this resource? Can I ask you a few questions?
1) How many Apps do you have on your iPad (add up the costs)?
2) How many Apps are there on your student’s iPads (Add up the costs)?
3) How much did the iPad cost?
I think for a small fee, the iPad Monthly is a good investment in utilising this powerful device to its full potential.
